Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and Ash Wednesday Service

Shrove Tuesday has traditionally been the celebration prior to Lent. The tradition was that it was a day of confession. In our time, confession can mean to state a truth or to share your faith in community. It can also be about letting go of what you don’t want to bring forward. The eating of pancakes was somewhat practical: as we move into Lent, which is a season of giving up, people often made foods that used up their eggs, milk and other tasty but hard to store ingredients before the Lenten season. Join us for pancakes for a dinner celebration of Shrove Tuesday!
Ash Wednesday Worship will follow the dinner (6pm) in the Sanctuary at 7 pm.
