Mommy Wildest

To start off the Adult Study portion of this Spring series of Faith.Food this Tuesday evening, we will be watching Mommy Wildest, a recent episode from the CBC’s The Nature of Things. It follows leading scientists who are studying animal communities in the savannahs of Kenya. We will witness three complex matriarchal societies in the animal kingdom and learn how cooperative motherhood strategies help them survive.
We will watch and discuss this 50 minute documentary in the context of the recent Women’s Marches around the world and gender issues. What can humans learn from these communities? Let’s talk about how historic perceptions about gender roles are being challenged today.
This Adult Study will take place in the Lounge following worship.
