Engaging Dialogue Series – Resilience: Bouncing Back, Growing Stronger
November 28, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Health, Wellness, and Spirituality
Have you ever wondered how much of good health and well-being is good luck, good genes and good fortune? Does attitude play a role in how well we are? What can be done to promote and maintain good physical, mental and spiritual health? This fall our Engaging Dialogue Series will explore how a faith community may contribute to
developing, maintaining and promoting health, wellness and spirituality. These sessions will feature guest speakers but will be designed to promote further dialogue so that the positive life experiences of our congregation can be shared.
Join us for dialogue and discussion. All are welcome!
Resilience: Bouncing Back, Growing Stronger
Speaker: Dr. David Kuhl
David Kuhl, a Professor in the Departments of Family Practice and Urologic Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia works to integrate medicine, psychology and the social sciences in his work as a clinician and a researcher. This is evident in the programs he has founded, namely the Palliative Care Program at St. Paul’s Hospital, the Veterans Transition Program, and the Centre for Practitioner Renewal, the latter focusing
on sustaining health care providers in the work place, understanding the effect of being in the presence of suffering and working with health care providers in addressing resilience, communication and healthy relationships in the workplace. At present, David is committed to creating The Men’s Initiative, thereby working to enhance the integrity and well-being of men for the benefit of families, communities and the world.
